Re: Linux Gurus? brokenman: I am no linux guy but I love a computer challenge:
To change the IP this time:
ifconfig eth0 address x.y.z.w
replace eth0 by your network device (which most likely will be eth0 anyway) and x.y.z.w with the required IP address
If you want permanent changes:
login as root
run netconfig
fill in the values in the dialog
Re: Linux Gurus? dgiirl: THanks brokenman! I knew the first one, but couldnt find the second :)
I'll try it tomorrow morning :)
Re: Linux Gurus? dgiirl: I forgot to update you guys...

hehehe netconfig worked :)
Re: Linux Gurus? lookin4alite: BTW, the other way to fix it is to go the txt files in the directory /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and there are the files....
you wanna change "ifcfg-eth0"
hope that gives you a backup way as well, there are a few other files in that same directory of interest.
later
