1 month.. still unemployed
.

1 month.. still unemployed Mooneyes: I'm still unemployed after a month.  I got back an email from one job I was really hoping for today.  I didn't even make the interview cut.  I'm trying not to get worried, but I have no means of support.  I'm trying to take care of myself best I can.  I never thought about an education being a hinderance.  But I have been told a number of times now that it is.  No one will hire me, because they think I won't stay.

Well my application is out there for my top choice job.  I'll cross my fingers and pray.
Re: 1 month.. still unemployed half full: I wish you the best of luck in your kob search.

I know it can be difficult dealing with not finding a job and dealing with divorce, but try and stay positive. It will get better.Dave

Re: 1 month.. still unemployed alonewith2: I understand perfectly about the education requirement.  I have 5 years of college classes under my belt, but since I lack the little piece of paper stating DIPLOMA, I get turned down for jobs all the time.  It really upsets me because I only apply for jobs that I know I would be able to do.  My experience should speak for itself, but it doesn't.  I don't understand how someone with no experience and just a diploma can be considered better hires than someone who has most of the education and a lot of the experience.  Oh well........good luck!
Re: 1 month.. still unemployed Mooneyes: Ah yes I guess I should clarify. I have too much education.  No one wants to hire me because I'm overeducated.  I didn't think it would be a problem.  But then that's trying to find any job.  They would rather have someone with no degree that is more likely to stay working at $7 an hour for years.
