Digital Cameras startingover: Looking to purchase a digital camera & have no idea what all the technical jargon means.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Re: Digital Cameras allmixedup: more megapixels= better quality pictures, also= more $$$
I have a 4 megapixel and it works great for me, but I think they have up to like 7 now but that really isn't necessary for recreational use
Re: Digital Cameras Kermie: You also want something with Optical zoom like 3X or better, Digital zoom really does nothing except make the Picture blurry.
Re: Digital Cameras kellsbee: i have a kodak easy share cam. 3.7 mega pixels and optical zoom 4x's. wonderful. about 250.00 bucks for cam. i love it!!
Re: Digital Cameras BigRunner493: i recommend not buying anything more than a 3.2 mp camera unless you are really going to take some "professional" pics or plan on printing stuff larger than 5x7. anything more than that, you usually have to reduce the image quality to share online, otherwise the files get a little bulky. most come with a decent zoom now, but much more than a 5x zoom for the casual user isn't really necessary. the camera still has problems focusing on smaller objects from far away, but good if you're taking a "general area" pic.
