Got the Divorce papers through today AmyMarie1972: Well I got my divorce papers through today. I have been waiting and waiting for them to get here eager to sign them and get everything finalised but now that they are here I cant help but feel a little sad. I have read through them and everything seems fine so just have to sign them and get them sent back and then it is all sorted.
Maybe I am not as far along in the recovery process as I thought, I dont know. I was doing fine until they got here this morning. There has been no tears or anything just a feeling of sadness as well as a few moments of reflection on the past and what was.
Am signing them and posting them back today anyway, then I am going out this evening to cheer myself up.

I guess the only way to describe it is as "Bittersweet". :(
I don't really have any words of wisdom to offer you right now except to say that I"m guessing that what you're feeling is normal and a natural part of the recovery process. It's ok to feel sadness because he was such a huge part of your life and it's ok to mourn that loss and the finality of it. Just don't get mired down in it and realize that this is just a temporary valley and very soon you will be on the top of the mountain overlooking your beautiful life with all of its' blessings.
You are in my thoughts dear.

It is a part of your life that is being "closed", "written off", etc. That is what hurts and what feels so sad. The thoughts of "what if", the thoughts of "look how much time I wasted", the thoughts of the children, etc.
This too shall pass. You will be fine once they are signed and mailed. Trust me. I KNOW YOU.....you will be fine honey.
