I think it happens to many people. It hasn't happened to me, though. My STBX is a coward who won't talk to me at all. He's very self-centered, has trouble making friends and exteriorizing his feelings, so I really don't think he will look for me one day to tell me how he feels.
Anyway, I was saying... After being so close with someone, it's not easy to let go, even if you're the one who screws up, I guess.
Just don't give him the chance to hurt you anymore. If you feel like you want to talk to him, give it a little time until you can deal with it without its being too painful. Remember, you're the most important person now.
