Ouch :(
My dad wanted me to wear my wedding ring until I was legally divorced (a whole year). He didnt want guys snooping around. Because of that comment, I had a really hard time with taking it off. For about 3 months after my husband left, I wore the ring every day and prayed on it every day. It was hindering my recovery big time. Thankfully I was going to counselling, and she helped me take it off. Also, my parents dont live close by so I dont have to see them every day.
My parents are overly protective and a little crazy. I still get into trouble, and have to call them every week and talk to them for long periods of time. After my husband left, i said screw it, i'm going to do what i want to do. My mom got really upset and I almost lost it. I was on the verge of disowning them. Thankfully they're giving me my space now and are less clingy. They just love you and want the best for you, even if it doesnt make sense to you.
Also, remember, we're not the only ones who get hurt in a divorce. My dad LOVED my husband, and now he cant stand him. He never thought he'd do this to me. So I predict having trust issues with my dad and any future beaus.
