Re: Do Men CRY ????? dgiirl: Personally, I think it's really sexy when a man can cry. Not a blubbering emotional cry like I do, but when I see those tears in his eyes, just makes my heart melt. It also makes me feel less alone. If he can cry, he can understand why I'm crying. Instead of just being a blank wall.
The anger, on the other hand, scares me. I've only seen my ex, and dad, angry on very very rare occassions, and it scares me. I've never been in any danger, but the doors and stuff have been. Dont like it at all. But I guess that's what happens when you bottle up your emotions and dont communicate until it's too late.
Cowboy, if you FEEL like crying, dont hold it in. If you dont feel like crying, dont worry about it. :)

br,
i was in the same boat with my girls, but then i realized that they will never know any different. whatever they are living through is "normal" at least to THEM.
All we can do is provide the best environment WE can. Some things are beyond our control, and it's best we accept that and worry only about what we CAN control.

Re: Do Men CRY ????? Bubba: Cowboy, I'm with you & Fre on this one. I don't cry, other then the odd occasion where a tear MAY well up till I fight it back. Never found much use in it. During my divorce instead of crying I would go for a jog, hit the weights, etc. Got it out of my system that way.
I don't think it is required for the grieving process. I think women cry easier for a couple of reasons; one is that it is more socially acceptable and secondly is they seem more in touch with their emtions then men. I recall watching a documentary once, and it said that the side of the brian (I think the right side) which controls emotions is far far more active in women then in men. Perhaps this causes them to be more "in touch" with their emtions. I don't know. I just know I don't really cry.

Re: Do Men CRY ????? twetifb: My stbx wasn't one to cry very often but he did cry on occasion. I think it was touching to see him show that kind of emotion when we went through situations that called for it such as when he told me about his suicide attempt, our wedding, and when I told him I was leaving.
Re: Do Men CRY ????? sigkapgirl: I'm with Cowboy, Bubba and Fre. For men and for me. I'm just not a crier. And it kinda bothers me when men are all blubbery.
My ex wasn't a crier. Like, he cried when his grandfather died, and I was okay with that.
I guess I just don't know what to do when someone's crying. I kinda wanna back away and then poke them with a stick until they stop.
