Re: Sushi ChristyM: California rolls are definitely my favorite. I wasn't a big sushi fan until I moved to Florida. I like a lot of it now, but I do stay away from the raw stuff. I can't stand the feeling of those raw chunks of meat in my mouth. It's gross.

Re: Sushi tara: I looove sushi. All kinds. I'm not big on cream cheese or smoked salmon in my rolls, though.
I occasionally make vegetable maki (I don't trust the fishmongers around here for raw stuff). I took a class and we made California roll, tuna roll (spicy and regular) and futomaki with a bunch of traditional Japanese vegetables (diakon, gourd, carrot, cucumber, I think.)
Re: Sushi summerparis: Yeah, you live in the Midwest right? Midwest and Sashimi are not two words I associate. Sounds like vegetable maki is a good bet.
