Re: Is this common? Candygirl: hmm... she sounds kinda shallow.  Maybe she should be asking 'What's wrong with the woman that let him get away?!!'  ;D
Re: Is this common? ChristyM: This is a common remark, unfortunately ...

One of my best girlfriends always says this when considering guys she wants to date.  I respond "But Michelle, WE are both divorced and there's nothing wrong with us!  You can't look at it that way."  You know, if someone already has that mindset going into it, it would make me wonder how empathetic they could be when issues arose.

Geesh.

Re: Is this common? OnTheMend: Yep.. is common.

I hate set ups.

Re: Is this common? Gem72: Greg41,

I think all of us wonder what is wrong with someone.  I tend to do it more now than ever but it is b/c I don't want a 2nd failed marriage so I am being picky.  I need to create a survey to ask all of the questions so I won't be surprised later.

Take care,

Re: Is this common? picadilly: All too common.  I even had a few like"what did you do?"  because I'm the guy, they figure if she left, it was because I cheated or beat her or something.  Well, sorry, no more drama, I have had enough, kthx.

I think the one thing you haven't thought about... is not what is wrong with you or even what is wrong with this single girl that she has to ask these questions or have her friend set her up... The real question is what the heck is wrong with your so called friend, the co-worker, for trying to set you up on a date THREE freaking weeks after your seperation.  Obviously she doesn't get it, the pain of loss & the down time you need... maybe she mentioned it's been 3 weeks to her friend & so she's asking why you would be dating so soon?  Who knows the exact story but just be aware, it's not you, it's not the girl, it's the ignorance of those that mean well, that can hinder your healing.

Take my rant with a grain of salt & date or don't date, your call.
