Do not drop out of college it will be the worst thing you can do right now! Trust me you will look back when your heart starts to heal even a little and regret that. We can all relate to our hopes and dreams being flushed down the toilet. Trust me if you asked me 2 months ago what I would be doing today it would not be finding a realtor to sell my house and moveing back home to MA. You can get through this the begining is the worst but it will slowly get better as I am seeing this for myself. We all have inner strenth in us that somehow will help pull us through.

I do think that he did the right thing by telling you this as much as it hurts he told you himself. I had to find out by playing detective.

Keep seeing the counselor they will help you.

I'm definately going to keep going to counseling.  I'm a person who feels the need to share my feelings.  That's why I'm here at this message board!  :)

Re: I'm a newbie...and heartbroken cyncyn_22: Just to let everyone know, I don't have internet access at home (remember, I'm a poor college student :P),  so I'll continue to post again Monday.

Just thought I'd let yall know so you wouldn't think I was ignoring your replies or something.

Everybody has been so helpful, I'll definately make this a second home.  ;)

Re: I'm a newbie...and heartbroken cyncyn_22: I'm back!  Hope everybody's having a great Monday.

Yesterday was miserable.  I was around my family all day, around people I love, and I felt as miserable as ever.

Saturday, however, I felt so happy and cheerful you'd think none of this break up stuff had ever happened.  All I could think about was how much I still loved my ex and how I have found it in my heart to forgive him.

Is this normal?  I'm so confused right now.  ???

Re: I'm a newbie...and heartbroken ya_crow: Don't worry it's very normal, almost always happens. We have good days and bad days, some people here have refered to it as a rollercoaster and that's such a good description. Sometimes it can be so disheartening to go backwards, but each time you do take a dip in spirits it'll be for less time and you'll be less down. That's the theory at least.

It comes as a shock when you think you're going to be okay to suddenly find yourself at a low point again. Bear with it, time is the only thing which mends a broken heart.
