Re: Newbie - Lonely Friday night dumpling: i don't think it's going to be easy.  if it was, there was no love in the first place.  the lonliness is what hurts the most.  even engaging in a solitary activity that i normally enjoy is dreadful because my husband is no longer in my life.  you can enjoy yourself, be adept at entertaining yourself, be able to spend time alone and enjoy it, but when you lose your significant other, your ability to enjoy yourself changes.  you no longer have that person to share your experiences with at the end of the day. and you no longer have that person to spend time with.

Re: Newbie - Lonely Friday night lost enigma: Hey,
I cant say I completely understand what you went thru with your ex. But from reading your summary, I share the same characteristics. I may be young but I believe people of all ages share the same pain when it comes to relationships. I have been out of mine for a week now and i am going crazy.

Re: Newbie - Lonely Friday night Beachchick: I know what you mean. I'm trying to date, and all I can find are flaws with these guys. They like me, call me, want to be with me...but in my head I'm thinking of the WORST things.

I'm a jerk for thinking them...

Things like, I don't like the sound of their voice, too cheap, not savvy enough, just anything.

It's not them it's me....

when you realize you have a struggle that you are dealing with, it will make conquering it easier. Except, keep in mind, actions speak louder then words....people can give you advice up the wazoo....but take heed to your own words...and heart.

You sound intelligent....don't sell yourself short by closing off your heart.
