neighbor kids father. AloneandCold: So there is this little 7 year old girl and her 8 year old brother that are always over here playing with my kiddos. their dad "went to the store" four hours ago. It is 7:37 p.m. here and his children are wandering the neighborhood. no one is home at their house. WTF? there are so many things that could happen to children, 7 is not old enough to fend for yourself. It is cold here and she has been running around in a bikini. I have her staying in my house until her dad gets home, but I have no idea where her brother went. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME PARENTS?
P.S. I asked where her mom is and she said she doesn't have one. :(
Re: neighbor kids father. in_search_of: ummmm, I think I would give CPS a call in the morning...as much as you hate to, but that is not good parenting. He might just need some guidance, which is okay, and CPS can help him out with that. But who knows what could happen to a 7 year old out roaming around!
Re: neighbor kids father. AloneandCold: I am kind of worried about the brother. He usually follows his sister around. He hasn't been over here for a few hours. It is now dark. My ex walked the little girl home to see if dad is there and he still isn't and brother is not either. I am feeding her dinner now. She has not eaten since she has been playing with my girls (about noon). It makes me SO MAD. It almost makes me appreciate my ex's child rearing abilities. He would at least never leave them alone like that.
Re: neighbor kids father. in_search_of: When your ex starts looking like a good parent, that is a sad state of affairs. I think I would put in a call to CPS in the morning, the kids are not safe. Lets hope that her brother is somewhere with another neighbor.
Heck, if dad does not show up in an hour or so I think I would call the police and explain what is going on and that you are willing to keep them for the night (if you are) etc. And let them take care of it.
Re: neighbor kids father. AloneandCold: I am hoping that is where he is, with another neighbor. the thing is I know of three registered child molesters in on this street. Okay so he just called (we left a note on their door)
He says "is she still there?"
My ex says yes but I don't know where her brother is.
He says "oh he is probably playing over at the apartments" (Which are on a whole other street). He isn't even concerned. It is 8pm and he has no idea where his child is and it doesn't even phase him? There is something really wrong with this picture.
