New twist on an old story.... What is the GOOD part of your divorce? Spectrum: Hey everyone,
I tend to be the obnoxious optimist in many situations.
So, to help myself remember why I am doing what I'm doing, and feel good about it, I'm going to make a list of the wonderful things that will come from this divorce. And I'm not going to center it around getting away from my spouse with all his problems.
1. I can move wherever I want to, and I only have to find a place where I can bring my horse and my dog.
2. I can move out into the country some day, build a tiny house, and start building my breeding farm from the ground up.
3. I can let my dog sleep on the other pillow, dog hair be damned!!
4. I can spend as much time YEAR ROUND with my horse as I want, with nobody to get jealous.
5. I can find a man who will love to see me ride my horse, and would like to come with me to horse shows. I know they exist- I've seen other women who have them!!
6. I can find a man who loves me for being intelligent, optimistic, and energetic.
7. I can find a man who has intense interests, hobbies, and loves to DO things. Even if he is a workaholic, that would be good- as long as he loves what he is doing.
8. I can cultivate new friendships, and some old ones too!
9. I can get really excellent oral sex.
10. I can watch cheesy romantic movies, and look forward to finding that kind of love and friendship.
Ok, everyone, feel free to either join in or throw rotten vegetables, whichever you prefer.
I know it isn't always easy to see the good things in these horrible situations, but I think it is important to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

- Drinking alone is much better than drinking with an angry spouse. Ogling and flirting are also much simpler.
- Better job now that I'm not tied to her university
- I get to eat Cheerios three meals a day when I feel like it
- I can walk around the house in my boxers
- I can drink milk from the carton. Shame there's no cows here.
- I can follow / talk politics to my heart's content
- I can work an outage at 3:00 am without disturbing anyone
- I can curse like a sailor in front of small children and nobody scolds me ... although their parents usually shoot me nasty looks
- I can live in an island hellhole / paradise. Current temperature: 75. Daytime high: 85. Water temperature: 75. Ratio of bikinis to long pants: 3:1 on a bad day. Last call: 4:00 am. No open container laws. Rum is cheaper than the coke to mix it with.
- I can wander the world aimlessly like David Carradine ... except he was a kung fu master and I build networks.
- I don't have to shave ... wait, I never shaved. Maybe that's the real reason I'm divorced.

Hmm, I think you should be able to do that anyway.
Ya gotta watch that rum thing though.... It can sneak up on you (and I don't mean during the course of an evening).

After almost 2 years and the fog lifting from my head I can take a real look and see a ton of the good things from my divorce.
#1 biggest thing for me is I am free to be me again.
#2 free to buy motorcycle and race it till my hearts content.
#3 dont have to worry about the person I am with cheating on me in the past or future as in no baggage with someone new.
#4 Dont have to worry about the person I am with stealing money from me by forging checks.
#5 Can move and leave town and make all my dreams come true.
#6 Get to live on the beach for the next few years and party when i am not teaching.
#7 Finaly be debt free and not worry about someone in my life blowing all my money on selfish things for her.
#8 finaly realizing that I am a "good guy" and I deserve better than what I got.
#9 Having her leave me before I ruined the rest of my life with her, and, before it was too late to have a new and much better life with someone new and better.
#10 had she not left me I would not have the wonderfull people I have today in my life. I have met so many new friends and have been able to re-kindle old friendships that I should have stayed in touch with.
Oh well what can you say, If you look hard enough you can always find the silver lining in any cloud.

1. I no longer have to go to sleep at night afraid of what he is going to do to me while I'm unconcious
2. I am free to be who I want to be, love whomever I want, and do whatever I want (well ..with kids) without having to answer to a LUNATIC!
3. My sex drive came back.. woot woot! ;) ;)
4. No longer have to deal with his obsession with big boobs when mine were small.. cause as soon as I divorced his A** I got an upgrade..and he dont get none!
5. I have learned how incredibly strong I am in the face of what are seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
6. I can roam around the house in sweatpants and my hair all over...and you know what? Who Cares! LOL
7. I feel as if the future is mine to do with what I want..without being tied down by a 170 pound albatross who only wanted to keep me in a barbie doll box on a shelf.
8. Realizing I have an immense capacity to love...fall in love.. and nurse a broken heart..and SURVIVE!
9. If I hadnt gotten divorced..I wouldnt have the friendships that I have just from this site alone!
10. Realizing.. I am a GODDESS not a doormat.. ;)
Writing all that down just made me a little giddy about being divorced...hmm.. Ive came along way baby! ;)
