Re:Descent bit pusher: Heh spectrum, if I watched TV at all (other than in bars, with the volume off) I'd have put a bullet through the one-eyed god a long time ago as soon as American Idol came on. If that's any indication of my patriotism, well paint me democratic and deport me ... oh wait, I'm practically deported as is.
WRT the noise cancelling headphones, I've been occasionally cranking the hell out of my stereo system in an effort to drown out bar noise ... loud, dirty blues that rattles the concrete floors (8" concrete with rebar ... spec ... this is hurricane country. If you can get a good bothersome noise through that you're doing allright) I'd worry about annoying the neighbors, but they'll all be gone in a week anyway and a new round will be through.
On the bright side, since this is my rant thread, I had the "talk" with the ex-ish girlfriend and am feeling much better about us not seeing each other while I'm all hosed over ... there is light at the end of the tunnel here somewhere.
As to the answers ... stay strong, even if you act weak, wake up every day ready for a fight, hang on for dear life to friends and family ... (they're obliged to love you, and most of 'em don't mind it) ... and in my case learn to stand on your own two feet again. That seems to be the rough part of the transition ... but it should be so simple? Right? I was fine being independent and alone before I was married ... what's different now? Hopefully, nothing and I've just got some adjustment (with the help of a professional ... good god) to do.
But those are my answers ... I have a feeling yours will be yours, eh?
take care.
Re:Descent Buggs: Bit Pusher,
wow, looks like you're begining to change your attitude (did you run out of booz?)
Glad to see the heart is catching up with the brain, its a matter of time is all. You're absolutely right, being single and independant is no different now than before you were married, except now you have memories you can cling on to, or cherish and move on...choice is yours.
HEY TURN DOWN THAT D**M MUSIC!!
Cheers
Re:Descent bit pusher: Actually, I figured the attitude change was more related to running into booze ... who knows.
