Re:Date dominowin: I agree...don't put a time frame on it. I, for one, am 35--so you can imagine the societal pressures on "not waiting forever to date again" for a woman "like me". However, at the moment I have really scaled back on dating after going fairly full-throttle for several months. Not that I'm not out there at all, but very little...I really do feel like I need to sort out my stuff and even a second date makes me feel really anxious. And waiting for someone to call? Fuhgeddaboutit--i feel like a madwoman. Don't feel forced into dating, it's tough enough as it is. If it's fun and you enjoy it, go for it. When it's not fun, hang back a bit, it's cool. You'll get back there eventually! :)
Re:Date grober: I couldn't agree with Marjie more. I'm was 31 when my divorce was final and felt the pressure to "get back out there". But I just wasn't ready. Now I am. Dating will be outside your comfort zone for a while, so it will feel weird. Don't shy away from that, but you shouldn't force it because of what others think.
Hope this helps
Re:Date mv2: I had these feeling so I took my time, and eventually I knew I was ready. Took several months after the divorce, though (and long after the separation).
Other guys I know that were divorced dated right away and said it made them feel better.
I think it depends on a lot of factors - but you will know when you are ready to go out there again. and don't worry - it will come back to you!! ;) ;D
Re:Date brynne: Thanks everyone.
I know I should let my age be a factor to decide if I should date or not (must be something about turning 30 later this year !)
I guess I just feel like since my X cheated I should be back out there quickly since he bviously had no problem dating again ! But I'm more of an emotional person & don't jump from one relationship to the next.
I'm just going to take my time & ease into it, I don't even want a man in my life right now !!
Hope
Re:Date alwaysangel: Hi, I have to say this is a very helpful site. I have been trying to get back into the dating scene and not having any luck. Is there anyone that has some advice on the best places to look or go for a person who hasn't had to date since the age of 16. I live in a very small town so not alot of options close to home, and kind of leary of the online stuff right now because I have no idea what the better dating sites are. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
