Re:be afraid- be very afraid dave13: Well I tried not to jump to any conclusions right off. I want to believe her. I always try to give people the benifit of any doubt- I've been told i'm the nice guy. But everyone that I talk to who knows about this from the RN at the clinic to trusted friends and reading all tell me the same thing. That it has a short incubation period and transmission will occur fairly quickly. The main point they make is if she had this to begin with, I would have gotten this a while ago. This most widespread of bacterial diseases does transmit easily and symptoms don't change like this. So I would not have picked this up many months ago, been asymptomatic, and then suddenly get an infection/outbreak. To sum it up, the healthcare professionals included, I am told "the writing is on the wall."
Re:be afraid- be very afraid ostia: Dave13,
I'm really sorry to hear that. :-[
I just wrote to try to make sure you got all the facts from someone...sexually transmitted diseases are a complex (as well as unpleasant) topic....
Best of luck dealing with your situation.....
Re:be afraid- be very afraid barelybreathing: Dave,
I am so sorry.
I got a complete physical from head to toe. It took me a while to make the appointment to do it. The shock of it all was more than I could bare. It's so scary, really.
Thank you for your candor. It's an IMPORTANT message that needs to be spread.
