Re: Came in MY house and turned on MY air shockedandamazed: Change the door locks and change the code on the garage..my father says it's quite simple, just have to re-program your garage door opener.
I don't know how you put up with it - from the first time my husband was jacking around, I changed the locks and carabinered the garage door. He was pissed when he showed up on the front porch, tried to use his key and realized the locks had been changed! I thought it was funny! What did he expect?
He quit claimed the house over to me and he will never set foot in this house again. We have just the garage to clean out and that is all he has access to until that area gets divided up.
Re: Came in MY house and turned on MY air alonewith2: I know how you feel! My STBX still walks around this house like it's his!! I had to work from 9am until 11:30pm yesterday. I asked the STBX to pick up the kids from daycare at 5pm and then come here until my son's dad picked him up at 6pm. Then he was to take our daughter home with him.
When I came home at midnight last night, this house was a complete disaster zone! There was candy, candy wrappers, clothes, school books, shoes, etc scattered all over the place. So I called up the STBX and asked what the he!! happened in the whole hour that he was here with the kids?!! He said that my son couldn't find his costume to take to his dad's and he was helping him find it.....not watching our daughter who decided to trash the place. I said that was fine and all, but why the he!! couldn't he clean up before he left?!!
It really ticks me off when he comes over and leaves his soda can lying on the table instead of throwing it away or not cleaning up after himself and the kids when they are here! To me it's just polite to leave someone's house in the same (if not better) state as when you first got there!!
Re: Came in MY house and turned on MY air hardened_heart1970: on overhead remote door motors, there usually is a learn button. its red, and if you hit that for like 10 seconds, it deprograms the remotes. thus, hes locked out.......
Re: Came in MY house and turned on MY air manda: Okay, Smo-kin, then what? Do I need to go get another opener? I guess I don't have to open it from the outside, though since I park on my side (different door). But what if I want to?
Also, just as an aside...HE left after sfour months of wanting to leave but me trying to keep him here (the whole finishing the basement for our son story that you either know about from me, or maybe you don't). And we lived in the same house but were miserable because we both knew he didn't want to be here--me trying, then crying (yuckiness).
ANYwho, NOW, he's been out a little while and wants to come back home (probably missing our stuff). I'm like, "WTF?"
SO, I'm trying not to rock the boat until I decide what is best for me. Part of that is not doing anything to set him off.
Go ahead. FLAME me. Tell me how stupid I'm being. My mind knows it. My heart is trying to get a clue as to how to stop the hurt--my heart wants the easy way right now.
Re: Came in MY house and turned on MY air hardened_heart1970: if you dont need that door, dont get another opener. if you want, see what brand the opener is, and get another remote. most remotes now adays are smart remotes, which means there is a cabillion codes they use..
flame you. cool....but, matters of the heart come first. noone knows truely what you are thinking, and feeling except you. you will be the first to know when you want to move on, or try again...
just be careful of any mind games he may want to play, as it will set you back, no matter how far you come.....
