My separation
.

My separation Lost-and-alone: My husband left and has his own place, we have no kids, so the period for separation is 6 months before anyone can file for divorce in this state.  I don't want a divorce, but he says "he doesn't know what he wants" (I have to assume the worst though).  We have no legal papers for separation because he has agreed to everything I want in terms of finances etc during this period.  You do not need any more than to have separate living quarters and to not have sex with each other for 6 months as far as I know for the separation period to hold.

My question is, during this time, since we are still legally married, what are the rules as far as what is allowed - such as dating and sleeping with someone else?  Adultery doesn't mean much to the courts and in this case grounds aren't even an issue because he doesn't want any household stuff or money anyway.

Thanks if you can help.
Re: My separation twetifb: I'm not sure what the "rules" regarding adultrey are...I think it's more of a personal decision.  My stbx and I discussed when we felt it was okay to start dating other people out of common courtesy for eachother's feelings.

Re: My separation Lost-and-alone: You mean during the separation period or after you were divorced?

Thanks
Re: My separation twetifb: During the separation...we're not divorced yet.
Re: My separation Lost-and-alone: So it didn't bother you to date while you were still legally married to your husband?  I'm just trying to understand if this is the norm, or what, thanks
