Major Stomach Issues - Ulsers? starbucker: Ok, I know it is normal not to want to eat right after your spouse leaves you and tells you your marriage was a farce...but I think my issues are getting a bit worse than that. I am having problems keeping the little food I eat down...and today I noticed there was blood in my vomit (ug...I don't mean to gross anyone out...but I am wondering if this is symptomatic of an ulcer. I don't really have any pain...or maybe I can't feel the pain in my stomach because the pain in my heart is so overwhelming...but I just was wondering if anyone else has had this experience.
I know I just feel like dying most of the time (I am not suicidal, just find it hard to believe that I will live through this...) but I just hope I am not really dying... ???
Re:Major Stomach Issues - Ulsers? Spectrum: How severe has your vomiting been?
Have you had any chest pain in combination with the vomiting?
If you have had any severe vomiting and/or chest pain, you could have anything from a ruptured blood vessel in your esophagus (probably not a big deal) to an actual esophageal tear (BIG deal).
Particularly if you have had any chest pain in combination with the vomiting, I would go in and get checked out. Stuff like that can be really damaging to your chest cavity and lungs if it is a tear.
Now that I've scared you, I will say that an esophageal tear would be really painful, and you would probably just *know* that you would need a doctor if that was the problem. Symptoms can actually feel similar to a heart attack (shortness of breath, chest pain, etc).
I'm not very familiar with symptoms of ulcers, so I can't tell you anything on that front.
Spectrum.
Re:Major Stomach Issues - Ulsers? notmyself: if you are passing blood than you definitely need to consult your dr. it may be the symptom of something not good. any gastrointestinal/ esophageal bleeding needs to be under advisement of a doctor. if possible i would consult a specialist. i have had stomach problems in the past and still do and unfortunately ignoring them doesn't make the problem go away. best wishes.

Re:Major Stomach Issues - Ulsers? starbucker: Feeling much better. Doctor wasn't too concerned as it did not seem to be too much...she just told me what to stay away from and to give it a couple days and she was right...The nausea has subsided as well...I am still just not eating much. I love to cook...and loved to cook for my husband...but since all of this, the last thing I want to do is set foot in the kitchen. So, I only eat really when I go out with other people...but that is ok...it won't last forever.
Thanks for asking!
