What a crappy investment...
.

What a crappy investment... frontier74: It seems that the new wedding ring I bought my ex, a few months before the separation, wasn't a very wise investment, for more than the obvious reason.

My ex told me that she's going to sell the ring, but it basically lost about 80% of it's value as soon as I put it on her finger.

Note to self -- jewelry is a very bad investment, especially when bought for the wrong person.  :-\
Re: What a crappy investment... EssieDotCom: aww sweetie..........i'd give the world and cry my eyes out if a sweet man gave me a ring. I wanted so much just to get an engagment ring from my husband or one anniversary, bc i never got one b4 we were married (couldnt afford it), but it never happened. We are seperated now, but this march will be our 10 wedding annivsary... not legally seperated, but all the same seperated.  Just keep in mind a lot of us women love "jewerly" and would be siked to get some! the right love comes along, maybe someday you'll buy it for the right one and mabye someday the right one will buy me one lol  ;D Chin up and GOd bless

Re: What a crappy investment... lost enigma: Soo true, some women will be very apreciative of that kind gesture.

Re: What a crappy investment... jadedangel: [color=navy"> You ain't kidding ...

and it's not just a monetary investment ... but one of your time as well.  I think that is the regret I have --- what a freakin waste of four years.[/color">
Re: What a crappy investment... whythisnow: I used to buy jewelry for my ex all the time.  She wanted a diamond eternity ring.  ($18k) Thank God I did not buy her  that ring.

I did take her to Europe and all over Canada the summer before the seperation.  I had a great time but she was never happy.. We stayed at 5- star hotels because she wanted something special.  OMG

Last month I had a meeting in a very upscale restuarant and walked to mall attached (tyson's corner,va) and walked into a Jewery store.  They had all kinds of sales and the women working there were very, very nice.

So I ended up buying my daughter earings, necklless, and matching braclett for the Homecoming dance that week-end.  When my daughter went to the Ex to get pictures taken with her boy friend my Ex almost had a heart attack.  She could not believe it was real and was pissed that I gave my daughter nice jewely.

It was a double thrill to give something nice to my daughter and piss off the Ex  --- priceless.

FIDO
PS
I warned my daughter about bringing jewlery to her mom's house after a Tiffany's bractlet I gave her last year disapeared there.
