The No-Date Era

The No-Date Era Trying2Hope: What is the longest anyone here has gone (after divorce) without dating?

I ask only because I'm pretty sure it will be decades before I ever date seriously again.
Re: The No-Date Era RSGinATX: Well, I'm not the longest, I'm sure(I hope!)..but it's been about 10 months so far.  It took several months before I even felt ready and during that time I stumbled and fumbled so badly that I got into the attitude of not even trying to date.  Once all this holiday business is passed I'll be back out there though...of course by then it'll be about a year.

I could sit around feeling sorry for not being in a relationship for so long, but when I look at my unmarried friends I realize I've been alone a lot less time, in total, than they have.  So, I can stay the course until something good comes along.

Re: The No-Date Era dgiirl: I need a date!  Anyone up for it? :)

It's been about 9.5 months now, and I havent even been trying.  Due to my current situation, I dont foresee me dating for atleast another 6 months either.  I have to sell my house so I can move to a new city.  I dont want to meet anyone here and then end up staying here.  I WANT to move.  So i dont want to meet anyone.  So i'm not dating :)

Re: The No-Date Era changed4ever: I didn't date for 10 months.  I was a mess most of that time, going through the grieving processes.  I'm finally dating and really happy.  You'll know when you're ready and it's true when people say that it'll come when you're not looking.  I believe that you have to heal from your break-up and make yourself whole again before you can put yourself out there.  Keep working on you and before you know it, you'll be dating again.  Good luck.
