He gets out of EVERYTHING!!

He gets out of EVERYTHING!! shockedandamazed: So - just got off the phone with the in-laws because I had to call them to see if they had a title for one of his motorcycles so I could sell it - because he has literally only had to sign his signature on all the paperwork I drafted for this divorce.

Anyway, we agreed that he would take over our brand new car - he refinanced it solely in his name. The car has a negative equity of $10K and has a 7 year term. His father just told me that the STBX wants his retired parents to take over the payments on this car so he can go out and buy a new truck!! I told his dad about the negative equity and how long the term was - he said he didn't know what to do. I told him that he could do what he wanted to do, but that the STBX had to find his own way out of the mess he created.

I can't believe that 1. He has not had to deal with anything - including having to put our dog down, drafting the divorce paperwork and dividing up the property. 2. That his parents are supporting his 36 year old sister and now they are thinking about taking on their son's f-ups!!

AGGHHH!!! What a irresponsible bastard!!
Re: He gets out of EVERYTHING!! ChiefWiggum: It's not just his parents.  You are supporting him too by taking care of the paperwork, selling his motorcycle, etc.  :-\

Re: He gets out of EVERYTHING!! shockedandamazed: Wow - I never thought about it that way - thanks for the different perspective....

But on the flip side - I can't let his junk sit around in my garage forever either....do you think I push everything of his out on the driveway and tell him that whatever is left will be donated to Goodwill??

Confused - want the stuff gone and out of my site.
Re: He gets out of EVERYTHING!! ChiefWiggum: There are a couple options for getting the stuff out.  I think the best one (if you have the time and a few dollars) is to put it in storage and mail him the key.  If he doesn't come by to pick it up or pay the rent, the storage place sells it all!  Haha!

I've also heard of people dumping it on the lawn and giving him a couple days to come get it (hopefully it doesn't rain).  On the third day, goodwill is picking it up.  Haha!

I'm not sure how legal any of this is.  If you live in sissy California (like me) maybe you can be sued(?), but if you live in a "tough state" just dump it all on the lawn.

Of course, there's the third option: Let it sit in your home, angering you more and more as the days move on until you just can't take it anymore and pull out all your hair and burn the house down.  In California, of course, you could sue him for this (emotional distress).

Re: He gets out of EVERYTHING!! shockedandamazed: Chief - do you think I could put the storage unit in his name?

I think I will just push it all out into the driveway and if he comes and gets it, he does, if not, Goodwill to the rescue!!
