Re: computer question: calling any computer docs yella: Hold out for PQ to come back, hun. He knows all about this, but I don't have my GPS, so I'm not of much help.
I do know, however, that the address should begin with http:// then the address of which it's pulling from (web host).
I was also told that if it's a picture, you can resize it so it fits, then have a web hosting service host it for you, then paste the url into your profile.
PQ can resize it for you too, if you ask nicely! ;)
Re: computer question: calling any computer docs frontier74: Hey GG,
Which service are you using to store the image? The one I use (photobucket) provides the URL to the image when you view it in your gallery. From there, you'd only need to copy the URL that they provide and then paste it into the URL field in your profile.
Just go to your profile in OJar and select "Forum Profile Information" under "Modify Profile" on the left-hand side.
Then just paste the URL in the field labeled, "I have my own pic." The radio button next to the label should be checked automatically, if not, make sure the little black dot is in that cirlce.
Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Change Profile." It should update after that.
Sorry if that's too elementary, but I wasn't sure where you're hung up or what level your computer skills are at.
Re: computer question: calling any computer docs flowersdirtandgardengirl: No, it's fine frontier, I was a little vague.
I'd prefer to use an avatar from a website over the ones provided. I've tried to simply paste the website from whatever picture online I'm looking at and apply it, blah blah blah....but it hasn't seemed to work. Which leads me to believe that I either need to reformat it in some way or I'm doing something else wrong. Simply pasting the URL into the field didn't do it.

Re: computer question: calling any computer docs frontier74: Can you paste the URL you're using into a reply in this thread. I can probably tell you why it's not working then -- and resize it if that's what you need.
