Well I have never signed up for dating site but a friend told me it is a racket...
He said he signed up for some site and all he ever recieved was IM's from women that were talking to him just to keep him on the site...
I don't know the whole story so...
On the profile thing...Yes you have to be careful anywhere on the Net so be careful

When you're ready you're ready.
Happy hunting
Re: I want to date but I don't dgiirl: From my limited experience so far, those internet dating sites are scary. I keep getting messages from "foreign" guys who dont speak english but want to move here and marry me. Kinda scary, so i've removed myself from those sites. I'm really not ready for that crap.
You never know tho. Give it a try. You dont have to put up your pic, just lurk for a while until you become comfortable. Otherwise, just try and meet new people. That's what I'm trying to do :)
Re: I want to date but I don't Bea: I joined a singles site when I first came here. I talked to three guys:
Guy # 1 was just separated and was looking for a "beautiful girl" because he was tired of being lonely. Forget about brains, he wanted her beautiful. His wife was still living at home.
Guy # 2 started talking about "a life together" after two chats and I kinda gave him the benefit of the doubt because he seemed "well adjusted", but after a couple of weeks I got really tired of his righteousness. He thinks he's all that.
Guy # 3 pretended that I went to his hotel room to "have a drink" because he was coming to town for business. Yeah, right.
A month later I removed my profile from the site and promised myself I would never do that again.
Based on my experience I would tell you to run away from it all, but I'm just gonna wish you good luck. Some people are actually nice, but it would be better if you meet someone in person.
