Re: Poll: How long until 1st date tara: It depends whether you use "official breakup" (which I will arbitrarily declare to be Oct. 7, 2004, although it could be a week or two on either side) or "when everything changed" (which is very distinctly May 22, 2001). My divorce was final in March 2005, but I'm not including that, since it's all paper by that point.
I had my first date on or around Nov. 17, 2004, which was either about 6 weeks or three-and-a-half years after the breakup.
I, um, had sex...about 6 weeks or three-and-a-half years after the breakup. Oops. :D
That evolved into a committed relationship at some point; I'm not exactly sure when. I know the exact moment when it FELT like a real, committed, right-thing-to-do relationship (January 15, 2005, which I guess was two months into it, a bit quick, but we're still going strong).
