The delay means one extra day in which he gets to charge you. Had he sent the papers in time to your ex that a large portion of the divorce handled by now. [/quote">   It was in time, albeit the last day it could have been served.  Even with that, my ex could have postponed if he was not ready (had he informed his attorney that he was served, instead of 'pretending' it didn't happen).
[quote"> Read up a bit so that you do not call him to ask questions you can find for yourself. got to divorcenet.com or nolo.com. Also, don't let the lawyer fill your hed that you can get some outrageous claims. Play fair and it will be less expensive for you.[/quote">   Believe me, I contact her as little as possible.  I waited a long time to retain an attorney.  In that time I did a lot of research, and got a lot of info from friends and my therpaist (who specializes in divorce).  Too bad I didn't find ojar sooner.  I was so worried about the unethical nature of attorneys, and the thought that the last court date being postponed= more money for her crossed my mind.

[quote"> And the order to pay is also standard. The courts weren't going to let your ex just go without making sure support payments.[/quote">   I am well aware of this too.  Sadly, my ex seems to think he is above the law, but I guess now he realizes he is not, as [color=red"> I just received my first support check yesterday [/color">
