Okay, what exactly am I doing to myself and why the fk didn't anyone tell me they thought my husband was an asshole???

Though for me it wasn't the @sshole part, but the cheating. I think it hurt more to find out that not only was he cheating on me, but everyone knew and never said a word......
Re: WTF is wrong shockedandamazed: I had my closest friends tell me that they never thought he treated me right...I asked my closest girlfriend, 'Why didn't you tell me?' Her response: 'Because you were happy and I didn't want to lose our friendship over a guy.'
Makes perfect sense...try to put yourself in their shoes for just one second...you can see that their SO is a complete ass because you are not wildly in love with him, BUT would you sacrifice your friendship by saying so?
Sometimes people don't know how to handle the whole situation and say things that come off as unsupportive. It was amazing to me how we had a very tight knit group of friends and the ones who were walking through the door when the rest of them were walking out. Yeah, it hurts...it hurts even worse when some of them didn't even acknowledge it or don't even call anymore...made me realize that I have to go out and meet new people.
Alone- as for them not telling you that he was cheating is VERY hurtful...I don't think I would sit on that secret if I knew....I am sorry that happened to you.

And what they meant by an asshole is that he was lying to me, sneaking behind my back to use drugs etc. He wasnt cheating. I couldn't keep that a secret I am sorry to hear that someone did that to you. Makes my stomach turn.
