Hell, I have no doubt my stbx loved me, I'm here b/c he didn't express it properly, and when and after I left my g-ma helped me, she definitely loves me too, still, she expressed it along the same lines as your mother so... sigh, gotta recognize there's love behind some of it, for what that's worth. I just prefer to not discuss it with g-ma now as it aggravates us both.
