My stbxh does the same thing...I think it makes him feel better about what he did. He is a real talker and changes depending on his audience but about me its always somehow negative and it hurts. My guess is it is just making him feel better about himself. Hearing it outloud even if it is your own voice can be very convincing.
Re: this is me, gg, needing a little help from you all... Bea: My EX isn't much of a talker, but I found out that he's been saying nasty things about me to people who barely know me. The more I think about the things he's said and done to me, the more I realize this wasn't my fault. He's a coward, so is your EX. I know it hurts like hell, but when someone needs to belittle others in order to feel better about themselves, what does that makes them? Be the bigger person, sweetie. He's the ass, there is nothing to understand.
