How did we get here?

How did we get here? dgiirl: Dear stbxh,

Today I found the box.  Everything I've been looking for for the last two years, I found it.  It had my crappy jewlery from before I met you.  It has all my religious stuff from my childhood bedroom.  It had both our letters in it.  The ones where you wrote that you knew we'd be together forever.  The ones where you signed it saying you loved me.  I had forgotten you use to say that!  It had the one piece of jewlery you actually surpised me with.  The peice of gold that you melted into a sideways smiley face.  What happen?  How did we lose each other?  We were so very happy in our ldr.  We were in love!  It wasnt a fragment of my imagination.  Over the years, I did forget some things.  But you use to love me!

But you know what else i found?  I found the letters your ex wrote to you!  The ones where she's in pain about the way that you treated her.  She begs you to not do this to another woman.  You did the exact same thing to me that you did to her.  Where in the beginning, you told her how much you loved her, and then later stopped showing her affection.  You were cold and distant towards her.  I believed your stories that she was manipulative.  But reading those letters, and having gone through this experience, it makes sense.  It all makes sense.  Those letters could have been written by me!  She is right.  You simply do not know what love is.  I hope she is ok now.  I hope she is happy.

Re: How did we get here? alonewith2: How the hell did we wind up like this?
Why weren't we able, to see the signs that we missed
And try to turn the tables....

I hate finding things....just a split second thought down that road is more than I want.....

I'm just glad it's not just me.  Misery loves company, you know.
