have you ever gone to a bar alone? minneapolis: I'm sitting here thinking that I might want to go out for a drink but I can't find anyone to go with (everyone else is married with kids it seems.) But I'm kind of too scared to go by myself. Not from a safety perspective, but just thinking what would I do when I got to the bar? What if there was nowhere to sit and I ended up standing around by myself?
Anyone ever done this? how?

I keep thinking that it won't be too bad to go to the bar alone. There are always people just sitting at the bar by themselves having a drink....
Re: have you ever gone to a bar alone? Trying2Hope: Sure! I go places by myself all the time. What's everyone's obsession with pairing up? If you like to drink and socialize, head on down to the pub and have a few. Heck, you might even meet somebody. Or not. It doesn't matter.

Minneapolis - I am in the same boat...all friends are married or paired up...all singel gal pals live in other states, my close gay guy friend also out of state...
I want to go out..but think when I step into the bar...I will feel so self conscious about sitting at the bar alone and people will think I am only there to get laid....usually this squashes my idea and I stay in and watch a movie...
Let me know if you do end up going and let me know how it goes.

If I lived near ya, I'd take you to a bar just to sit and drink!
