Divorce Agreement Panda916: Is there a statue of limitations on a divorce agreement in New York? My ex owes me money per the divorce agreement, he has paid me very little of it and says he is not paying me anymore. The divorce was in 2001.
Re: Divorce Agreement turning leaf: Take him back to court. Do you still have his address? File for an order to show cause, have him served, see him in court.
Re: Divorce Agreement Panda916: Only problem with taking him to court is (1) I am living in Georgia and would have to go back to NY for court hearings if it came to that. (2) I cant afford a lawyer. I have been looking all over web sites to see if maybe there was some kind of form I could file through the courts to get some help, but so far I am not finding anything :( I cant go through small claims because I would lose about $5,000. Thanks for the help :)
Re: Divorce Agreement beentheredoneit: contact a lawyer and find out if you have to go back or not, since you are living in this state depending on how long you have been a resident that state may be able to have jurisdiction, since you live there (he would have to travel then, or forfeit)
