He cheated on me. He killed the 'in love' part. But I still love him.
I guess for me, it's easiest to explain that I love him like I love my friends. He is a significant part of my past and who I am today. For that, I love him. I love him in that I only wish the best for him.
But I am not 'in love' with him. The romantic feelings are long gone.
Is that what it means? Love as caring for him, but not 'in love' as the romantic part.
And I don't think this means I am immature. In fact, I think it takes a lot of maturity to realize the difference between love and 'in love'.

It hurt like hell to read those words even after he had already left me. And if that wasn’t painful enough to read the first time, I ended up inflicting more pain upon myself when I dug it up just now so that I could quote it verbatim.

You're right amy.... but your situation is different.
Youv'e been cheeated on.. there was no cheating here, just a bunch of circumstances stacked against us that let her throw in the towel.
