Whiner Babies. . . snkpack5: Alright ladies (and fellas if you really want to chime in),
Do you find whining in men an unattractive trait or do you actually like it when they go on and on about how miserable everything is? And I don't mean occasional griping, I mean whining as an everyday facet of their personalities. Can you get past it or no?
Re: Whiner Babies. . . alonewith2: Funny you ask! My first date post-separation was with this very nice-looking man. However, he whined constantly about EVERYTHING!! It seemed there wasn't anything going good in his life. Before I get jumped on, if I had known him better, I would have loved to be there for him and listen to his problems and help him out, but I didn't know him very well....and well, it left a very sour taste in my mouth.
I contacted him about 6 months later to see how he was doing (hoping he was better off with his situations, etc....), but no, he was the exact same whiner!
It's a real turnoff to me. Yes, things go wrong in life all the time. I don't mind whining...but when it's basically thier WHOLE personality, well, that sucks!
There's got to be some optimism. There's got to be some FUN!

Um....IMO...Personally - I think its unattractive - if they whine to me - it's like telling me they want me to fix it or something. If they want to vent (which is a totally different animal) then that's okay....I think whining on an everyday occurance would get really old!! FWIW!
Re: Whiner Babies. . . Trillian: OHHHH GOD!!!!!!!! You just totally told me exactly what my ex was. He used to whine and complain about everything. We would be on the highway and someone would be speeding up behind him (mind you he was in the fast lane going 10 UNDER the speed limit) and he would yell and scream. If I came up to something while I was driving and had to move out of the way ASAP, he would whine that I didn't do what I needed to ASAP, mind you I NEVER hit another person or car the whole time we were married.
In other words, I HATE IT!!! You should just let it go, live to be HAPPY!!! Not to make other misarble....
Re: Whiner Babies. . . frontier74: I like my men peppy and positive -- my ladies too. ;D
Occasional cynicism can be entertaining, chronic whining is just tiring, whether it's coming from a friend or a love-interest.
By the way snk, I'm what Willis was talkin' bout! I have the T-Shirt to prove it. :P
