Quick online dating question.... Spectrum: This is probably a stupid question, and I'm sure JimB will be all over this ( :D ), but I've had two guys email me via match, back and forth a few times. Both have expressed that, 'They're not looking for anything serious, but they'd be interested in getting a cup of coffee/drink/dinner some time and maybe hanging out.' Then they give me their phone numbers.
What happened to asking me for my phone number??? What's the deal here?

They give you their phone number so you'll feel a little safer.

Sorry for that but you can get to know someone you think you know and they turn out to be someone totally different than what you thought they were as far as personality goes

Women will not give out their phone numbers in case the guy is a weirdo or psycho. So the women can call from a blocked number or pay phone. ( sounds like a movie)

Re: Quick online dating question.... shockedandamazed: I look at it like this: If I give someone my number, then the ball is in their court to call me...maybe they are testing the waters and just wanting you to make the move first.
I only give out my cell phone number...nobody new I meet knows my home phone number....just a suggestion.
