I am just exhausted. He is slowing down from his spin and yesterday told me he is very depressed. Does this mean he is comming down from being manic? I cant tell because like I said he is trying to fake like he is slower. Said he has been thinking alot about suicide and ways that could happen, and says he must "keep going" (in his words) to avoid thinking about his depression. He seems to do this every 3 years. He was hospitaized 6 years ago almost to the day. They gave him Lithium and some antipsychotic and it made him very sick and he threw away his meds, but got better anyway...
I told him either he goes to the clinic this weekend of I am going to sign the papers that allow them to bring him in involuntarily. He swears he will go before Sunday is over. The clinic is walking distance from our home, I scoped it out and told them whats happening and they said it sounds like he is manic right now.
I cant remember a night in recent weeks that he didnt wake me up in the middle of the night to talk and argue and I am tired of it.
I just want a full nights sleep and to relax. I wake up my heart beats really fast and I am on edge all the time because I dont know what is going to do next. He is just so weird right now. He keeps losing his keys as if its a substitue for saying "I lost my mind."!
I really love this man with all my heart, even if he is sick and even if we are broken up. We are still too close as soulmates/friends to actually breakup.
I want to help him but I also want the peaceful quiet life I once had before I met him...
I feel he desperatly needs a dr. I take threats of suicide very seriously.
All I can do is tell him I am there for him, I will go to the clinic with him, and I promised I wont let anyone hurt him. I think he is pretty lucky to still have me as a friend.

Re: My girlfriend is bipolar and it hurts my heart sadgirlwhyme: thanks for the validation. before i read up on mental illness a few weeks ago, i didnt understand what was happening. i thought he didnt love me anymore and was avoiding me and choosing other friends over me. i thought he had multiple personality disorder. i thought he was doing methamphetamines or cocaine. He always looks like he just drank 10 cups of coffee now, all sweaty yet groggy with glazed eyes. almost the same as my friend with type 1 diabetes when her sugar is off. just looks very sick.
i am going to make him go to the free mental health tomorrow and i will post here what happens. thank goodness you dont need money to be seen, he has no insurance.
i hope they give him the right medicine so he can better cope with our breakup and hopefully move out on his own.
i give up.

Its a mood stablizer that blocks dopamine and attracts it just right so you stay balanced. He wont get sick off of it. My stepmom takes Lythium it has side effects. Go to www.abilify.com.
