Re:"The bushman and the peculiarities of on-line relationships... Spectrum: Bushy,
I had a friend who moved here (MN) from Pennsylvania a few years ago because she married her internet romance, who was a college professor.
She was really happy with it until about 2 years after they got married, when she came home and found him romping around the house with one of his students, who was wearing his button-down shirt and not much else.
Hehe... Obviously that isn't the result we all strive for, but it was a good match until his lack of morals got the better of him. ;)
In any case, if you have the means and the desire to do it, I'd go for it.

Re:"The bushman and the peculiarities of on-line relationships... bushy: Thanks for the replies guys - come to think about it...what on earth is wrong with the old WWW as a means of meeting people. H*ll, the web is used to satisfy every other human whim - so why not meeting someone you get along with too? I thnk that OJAR itself is evidence that internet-based comunication can be a place where really good friendships and support networks can be formed, right? ;)

Re:"The bushman and the peculiarities of on-line relationships... in_search_of: Here is my take on it...IMHO, why is meeting someone on the web any more or less of a bad idea than meeting someone at the bar or anywhere else. In reality its probably better, you are probably sober when emailing, and you have likely hada few drinks if you meet/talk to someone at the bar. So in the end this is probably safer. Noone blinks if you go out with someone that you meet at the bar, or at work, or in the grocery store etc. So why should they blink if you go out with someone that you met on the WWW!
So I say, go for it! Have fun!
