This has been a historically bad day for me sicne HS when I had a perfect date to the dance and my sister thrw a party the w/e before and we both got grounded. The date met someone else that night. The college BF who forgot and got mad when a friend sent flowers. the husband who looked at the personally decorated and said "I don't like cake" or my favorite is the live in BF who got drunk one v-day and slept with someone else while I was at clinicals. I cried for two days and that is not okay in clinicals!
I could go on with the almost comical list of obsurd things that have happened to me on V-day but I am sure you all know similar stories.

Shocked, my mom was the same way and my stbxh like yours. He learned to pick something up that was obviously so cliched flowers that are half dead when the go on half price at 5pm on Vday and the chocolate creams (I hate the creams).
I like the idea of a un-Vday. I had a friend whose b-day is the 15th and we used to have a party for un-vday but she is gay now and in a very happy committed relationship - go figure huh!!
Let's just treat ourselves well and that will eb the best revenge.

Oh, and FYI, for the most part, guys don't care about V-Day. BUT... if they care about you, they will make it appear like they do. YOU being happy makes us guys happy... at least those of us who are worth a crap.

I envy you GS, I didn't spend enough time with my Grandparents before they passed away.
I guess for me it's not just another day on the calendar. Just a day I've always wanted to be special and it was always disappointing and stressful instead...
