Re: Stay the course....or bail out? Chey: You could always see if someone from Ojar would go with you...I do believe Beren is in CO too :D
Re: Stay the course....or bail out? belle0626: Go with a friend! You don't need to take a date to a show. And if you do end up on a date, just tell her that you really splurged this time because they are your favorite band or something similar.
Don't sell the tickets!  Go buy yourself and scalp the other one if you have to. There has to be a friend of yours that will go - don't ever give up an event for lack of a date. You may be surprised at the fun you will have just with yourself and your friends...or maybe a cute girl in the row behind you....

Re: Stay the course....or bail out? ohill: The more I have thought about this, the more I realized how silly it was to go searching for a date to the show. In an ideal world I should look for a show because of a date, not look for a date because of a show. Granted, this is a little different because these tickets had to be purchased well in advance...

Nevertheless, it has been fun to talk about the upcoming concert with people. I have been asked several times who I am going with. When I have replied "I don't know yet..." people got concerned or quizzical looks on their faces. The ones who weren't obviously trying to "buddy up" to me to jockey for my other ticket decided that it needed to be their new mission in life to help find someone to go with me. As a conversation piece, this concert has been a very good thing. Plus, it is nice to have something fun to look forward to in life.

All of that aside, I have a date to the show tomorrow night! To make a long story short I went on a blind date last night which was set up through an acquaintance whom I barely even know. I had a fabulous time out last night and asked if this lovely young lady would like to go out again sometime. When she cheerfully accepted I asked "How about a concert?"

So, there you have it. Sometimes things just work out, and it makes you smile...
Re: Stay the course....or bail out? hudson: Kick ass dude.  Have a good time, Coldplay rocks.  About the date, be careful, strange women are unpredictable. ;)
Re: Stay the course....or bail out? ohill: Update...went to the concert. It was absolutely awesome. I took the lovely lady that I embarrassed myself in front of on Friday night (see blind date post). We had a fabulous time (at least I did). Thanks everybody for your advice and experiences. I certainly appreciate the input.
