Some things I know now about relationships crushedman: In relationships, as in life, there are no guarantees.
Some people will change for the better.
Some people will change for the worse.
Some people will never change.
Some relationships that seemed absolutely bulletproof will end.
Some relationship that no one thought would ever last will last forever.
Some people that cheat will always be cheaters.
Some people that cheat will never cheat again.
There is such a thing as unrequited love.
Some people are evil.
Some people are good.
When someone leaves for another person, sometimes these relationships actually work.
Sometimes they don't.
People actually leave Dear John letters.
Some people never get over their spouses leaving them.
Some people get over it and they are happier than they ever were.
And everything in between.
Sometimes counseling works.
Sometimes it doesn't work.
Sometimes marriages recover from affairs, even multiple affairs.
Sometimes they don't.
Some leavers return with hat in hand.
Some leavers never call again.
Some people get divorced and then remarry.
The only thing I know for certain now is that when it comes to relationships, I just don't know.

Friends and family tell me the my ex and I are "meant" for one another and that his mistake will catch up with him and he will come back. I just nod and smile because anything is possible!
You are right. Relationships are a huge gamble. Some of us come out winning big and others are left at the table gripping our last chip hoping for a big score.
