just need to gripe... janee: How many of you are financially struggling? I am financially struggling because of the divorce, getting turned down for jobs (because of the wonderful economy), etc. What really annoys me is when friends, who are well aware of how much I am struggling, "rub in", how much money they are making. One particular person had to brag about going on a trip, how expensive her hotel is, how much she spent on her new guitar(1200.00), and spending 50.00 to see a concert. When she was struggling, I never mentioned stuff like that. Personally, I find it rude and offensive. Is it just me, or is she rubbing things in?

I am watching what I spend and starting to hunt for employment.
Maybe your friend who might be compassionate in other areas is simply not aware of how her comments are making you feel. You probably have a better idea if this person is doing it intentionally.
Try to be positive and maybe in a very tactful and friendly manner state your concerns. Open communication makes a friendship stronger.
