My Ex is an Idiot ChristyM: I haven't vented in awhile so I think I'm way overdue.........
My s2bx (for those that don't already know) is a crappy father (I do not use the word dad here). He fought me on everything about this divorce except child support and custody. He gave up any custody and is paying the full amount of child support -- no credit for visitation or anything. He sees her every Wed. morning for 20 minutes while he takes her to school. He only does this because I have an early morning meeting with the bank board members every Wednesday.
So this past Sunday he calls (once again on the line that he's not supposed to) and wants to talk to her. She is gone, I tell him she will call him back. I later tell her he called and she isn't in any rush to call him back -- I mean, come on -- would you be? So she doesn't. I keep remindng her but she never calls him. Fast forward to today..... I pick her up from school and ask her if everything went o.k. with him. She says no and proceeds to tell me the convo. It goes something like this:
Her: Hi Dad! How are you?
Ass: Hey xxxxx, why didn't you call me back on Sunday?
Her: I was gone and then I had homework and just got busy
Ass: Oh, I see how it is, you are too busy to call your dad. Fine, if that's how it's going to be I just won't call you anymore. You can call me when you feel like it then. Until then, I just won't talk to you.
Her: No dad, I just was busy and got involved in something. I want to talk to you.
Ass: Whatever xxxxx, I'm surprised that you even want me to take you to school on Wed., oh, that's right, I only take you b/c your mom is busy. You obviously don't want to spend any time with your dad - so fine, whatever.
Her: Not saying anything b/c she's too busy crying.
Make sure when reading his parts that you use a very sarcastic tone.
And in case you were confused - he's the 35 year old and she's the 12 year old.
I swear to God, some men should be legally required to have vasectomies.

From what I know and have read of your situation, you hit the nail on the head with the title summary of your situation. Ditto in Ontario.
