I don’t mean to bring up old memories, but he was the one that left and found a new life, yes?
And he is the one that did not call his daughter for so long, right?
So he has to understand that his relationship with his child will have to be repaired and he will have to work at that forever. He broke her trust and heart every bit as much as he did yours, so why is it a big surprise to him now that his daughter has her own life too.
He made his world and if he wants to change it he can not expect her to just act as though nothing happened.
I guess that’s the same as he made his bed, if he wants it changed then it is up to him.

Re:My Ex is an Idiot ChristyM: Yeah EZ, that's what I don't understand about him (or I guess a lot of other people). This is what he wanted all along and he's never been much of a father anyway and he knows that. He never calls her to go do something or help her with homework or just ask her how her day was. Then, when she naturally backs away he makes it all about him. 'Oh, poor me, nobody loves me and life just isn't fair'......geesh, give me a break - when he is ever going to step up to the plate and assume some responsibility? How can he just continue to see these things from his own warped view? I don't know, but I will protect her from this hurt as much as possible--no matter what I do. He can let me down as much as he wants, but he better not f*ck with me when it comes to my daughter.
