it depends upon the size of your tire freckles. my truck has LT265/75/R16 on them..... $160.00 a piece, for the 6 ply cheaper ones........

freckles, what the salesman "meant" by "thin" tires, is the side wall. cheaper tires have less plies in the side wall, thus making rocks, and trees and nails pierce them easier.... thats why they are soo cheap. however, texas probably has none of the above, so your safe! lol
