holding on by a string sarao525: I am very frustrated. Just yesterday, I had to sit through a bankruptcy hearing with the stbx. He had the nerve to say he wants to go to couseling with me. I don't think so. He says he still wants the divorce, but I don't believe it is correct if there is no thought of reconcilliation.
Re:holding on by a string Lumpy: Do you have kids? Are you forced to live together before the divorce is finalized? Those are two reasons to consider counseling without reconciliation. Maybe hashing things out with a nuetral party brings about a change of heart.
Re:holding on by a string sarao525: Yes, there are children involved, no we are not living together. I do not feel as though he deserves my cooperation.
Re:holding on by a string Raven: I agree with you, that your STBX doesn't deserve your cooperation...but as you said, children are involved...That may be the best reason to go ahead with the counseling. It shouldn't be a problem to let the counselor know UP FRONT that you are not interested in reconciliation, but in forging a civil relationship with the STBX for the sake of the children....
Perhaps?
Re:holding on by a string sarao525: It's not me that is not interested in reconciliation. I will be going to counseling with him for our childrens sake, but I am not ready yet. I talked to him about that and he agrees. the stbx just wants to relieve some of the guilt for what he has done. He cheated, and even after my forgiveness, decided he doesn't love me anymore, and doesn't want to be with me.
