I'm so glad to hear from someone around here! Are you separated or is your divorce final? Mine was final on March 24. We were only married for two years and my ex was the initiator. Do you have any children? I don't have any. I guess that's a blessing, in a way. I don't have any family around here and not too many people to talk to, so needless to say, the world has suddenly become a much bigger and lonelier place in many ways.
Re:Divorced in Jacksonville Sassy: My divorce was finalized June of last year. We were married for almost four years. We had everthing the typical country soung says that you are suppose to have to be happy.... a dog, a house, an SUV, and then we had a child. It did not work out the way that we wanted it too. Well, the way that I wanted it to. I filed for divorce after threatening it for over a year. I just got the that point. One day I woke up and realized what had to be done. He on the other hand did not feel the same. I do not have any family here, so it also became a very cold and lonely place for me. I did however have my son, who is now two, in which I had to stay strong for. And I appeared to be fine on the outside, but when the lights went out, I continuously questioned my actions and my being. I still get in those ruts and wonder what I could have done differently. Actually, the the holidays were the worst so far. I thought that I wanted to make things work... So I turned to a friend who had been there with me through the entire thing and asked her for advice. She gave me the best advice I could ask for. She told me to take my son out of the picture, just for a moment, and then see if I still thought things would work. So I did. And guess what I did not really want to be the wife that I had been for those years....I just wanted my son to have a father...

Re:Divorced in Jacksonville momfirst02: I am also in Jacksonville and have been separated for five months. It has been very tough and the loneliness can be overwhelming sometimes but I have a beautiful 20 month old son who is the reason I get up in the morning. I got on here to see if there are any local Divorce Recovery Support Groups. It would be great to meet with people who have shared a similar experience to mine.
