I got a new car barelybreathing: This is wonderful for so many different reasons.
As a result of my car accident, I had to buy a new car. I got a decent, respectable insurance settlement to put down on a new vehicle.
This would be the second vehicle purchased in my sole name. My first one, was with the ol' hubby but he did all the shopping and negotiating.
This time, I was on my own. I researched and shopped around, narrowed down my choice and got all the specs and true market value.
I was able to negotiate the price for less than the true market value! The finance guy complimented me on my knowledge and negotiating skills!
Another wonderful thing about having a new car is this....I did not have a CD player in my old car (but a portable one) and I did not have keyless entry. With a toddler, unlocking the car was such a hassle and event.
Now, I have a six disc CD player and keyless entry! WHAT LUXURY! I feel like I have won the lottery or something! And it is not like I did not have all that with the Yukon the ol' hubby kept but I just feel so LUCKY and BLESSED.
This has lifted my spirits.....

I like to think of myself as a non-materialistic kinda guy but damn if itdon't feel good. Nice work on the negotiations too! I hate dealing with car salesmen. Always feel somewhat taken in the end.

I remember someone saying (well, someone in a movie) that cars are like time machines...behind you is the past, ahead of you is the future, and if there was ever a time when we needed a time machine to get us away from the past and into the future, it's now...
plus, a new car (or truck, even) is good because it's *new*...it doesn't have any old memories attached to it, only new ones waiting to happen...
