Do you have to ask?  Go to the ER.
Re: Chest Pains gulfcoast: That is what I am thinking about now...
just hate to go in and them say it is gas...lol

Re: Chest Pains poisonIVy: If you are at all worried that it could be heart related, I would start by calling your doctor or doctor on call since it's sort of after hours. If you don't have one of those, try the local ER, they may be able to put you on with a nurse who could better answer this question.

My dad had been having shortness of breath, getting tired faster, etc for a couple of weeks... one day, he mentions it to my sister who he was staying with -she is a RN.  Next morning they bring him to the hospital -I think that was a Friday morning. He had quintuple bypass surgery that following Monday.

It could be stress; like a panic attack, etc, there are so many things it 'could' be you need to get it checked out.  Sorry I rambled and I don't mean to scare you...
Re: Chest Pains tnk: The chest pain that you are experiencing could be a number of things: heartburn, anxiety, musculoskeletal pain, or maybe it could be a true cardiac issue.  True angina (chest pain) is caused by lack a of oxygen to the cardiac muscle and it literally begins to "starve" for oxygenated blood, hence the pain and pain is a body's way of telling a person that something isn't quite right.  I'm not a doctor and I'm not teling you what to do, but if it were me and the pain persisted, I'd go to my primary physician as soon as I could and if it were after office hours, I'd go straight to the ER.
Re: Chest Pains alonewith2: To rule out gas pains...try Pepcid or something.  If it still hasn't gone away, go get it checked.

Honestly, you should go get it checked anyway.  I work in the ER and we don't care if it turns out to be just gas.  It's safer and better to get it checked out then to find it too late!
