Any advice on speed dating??? Polly: I tend to get stage fright the first time I meet someone (that goes for anyone, not just potential romantic partners), how do I NOT seem socially inept? What is good to talk about in a few minutes besides the obvious like occupation? Is there even time for awkward silences? Maybe I worry too much!
Also I look like hell, because I just came back very sunburned on my face from the Carribbean--"Is my red, swollen, peeling skin sexy?" If that isn't a conversation starter, I don't know what is ;)
Re: Any advice on speed dating??? Beren: Ask what song or band is their current favorite.
I've never speed dated before. I don't know.
Re: Any advice on speed dating??? whatnext: Go as fast as you can. The speed, and quantity matters more than quality. The same tactics apply to sex and eating.
Re: Any advice on speed dating??? shockedandamazed: Here's some questions that will stand out and give at least a general idea of what the other person is about.
What types of movies do you like?
Tell me your top favorite 3 movies.
What are you looking for in a partner?
What are your hobbies?
What's currently in your CD player?
Tell me one thing you are proud of in your life.
What is your religious belief?
Describe your perfect date.
What do you normally do on a bad weather day?
This should cover the ten minutes you get to spend with each person. And you'll know within the first 5 minutes if you like them or not!
Have fun with it! I have always wanted to try speed dating too just to try it out and experience it.
Re: Any advice on speed dating??? Batman: Man, don't waste time with questions about movies and CDs! You only have a minute or two ... ask some SERIOUS questions ...
1) What are your thoughts about God?
2) Tell me about your political persuasions.
3) What do you think is the woman's role in a relationship?
Questions like that! You'll be able to quickly weed out all the bozos that way. Just my $0.02.
