Re: Question to those who have full custody... sosad05: Crush....OMG!! This is one of my biggest fears. xh will be marrying ow next month. She has a lot of money.  A part of me is terrified he will try to take me back to court and get full custody bc hes married and i'm not.  In fact, I keep my atty on retainer and discussed this with him the other day. He told me not to worry about it too much. We actually already have joint with me being the primary custodial parent.  However, I am terrified about it. When we first went to court, the children's atty gave me a piece of personal advice and told me to basically document everything for the rest of their lives.    Thankyou for your post and letting us know that these horrible nightmares can come true and to protect yourself at all times! What a sad society we live in.  :(

Re: Question to those who have full custody... treeluva: When we were getting divorced, I was really nice and just told my lawyer I wanted Joint Custody with Physical Custody awarded to me. No problem....... until I got on orders to come to Germany. In order to get my daughters passports, I had to have his signature. Now, He was not trying to fight about me taking them to Germany, he is unemployed, and this is how his kids eat. But, it took him 4 months to send me the paperwork with his signature on it, notarized. I ended up getting the passports THE DAY BEFORE we flew out. It was so stressful, that I am currently in the process of getting full custody of the kids, with liberal visitation rights. (He doesnt utlilize visitation anyway. But I dont want him to ever say that I kept him from them to them. And it isnt because we are in Germany, two years before we came here he say them all of 2 times)
It can bite you in the ass. My friend lost her son to her ex husband, because she moved to oklahoma with her new husband, and because the ex was causing a ruckus about the son being so far away, they got themselves reassigned to a post closer. THe judge took her son because he moved 2 times in a 13 month period, which showed instability, even though they moved JUST TO BE CLOSER TO THE DAD! And, while he was in Oklahoma, he went to his fathers house EVERY HOLIDAY, and ONE WEEKEND A MONTH, and the STEPDAD DROVE HIM 15 HOURS THERE, stayed in a hotel, and then drove the 15 HOURS back! I can feel my blood boiling right now. The mom didnt drive them because she has two other children with her second husband.... (and let me just mention, this woman got divorced two times because of infidelity on the ex husbands parts.) I cant believe the judge took her son. What a jerk off.
